 Clan Ranks
« Thread Started on Mar 17, 2007, 5:36am »

First off, I'd like to point out that this is the 400th thread. Alright, after a very long period of no updates, 9 months I believe, I have decided to update this thread as to keep the members informed to the many changes and the addition of sub-ranks.

The Rank Hierarchy

Recruit

There are certain requirements for achieving each rank which will be further detailed in a future thread listing all the boot camps for each game, as well as the advanced regimen, etc. There are two different branches that a member may choose to follow upon completion of 1 star ranks, the knighthood, the nobles, and eventually the judges. Also, the significant other of each branch is equal to the other. Ex., knight is equal to noble,etc.. This remains consistent except in the 1 star ranks. Also all higher ranks in the hierarchy have obviously met that of the lower.

Duties of the Knighthood-The knighthood is expected to be the best of the best among their peers. They are to strive to the top, and must show absolute loyalty to the clan. They don't necessarily have to know the clan's history and guidelines in and out, but are expected to at least recognize that they must obey those with a higher rank than them, so obviously they will have to understand that if a person has more stars than them, you are obligated to take orders from them. However no knight is expected to follow orders blindly, and if they see potential harm coming from these orders, are encouraged to take it up with a sage.

Duties of the Nobles-They are expected to have decent skill at their game, although this is not as emphasized as much as it is for the knights. Instead the Nobles will help with administrative duties, such as running boot camp, making sure the code is followed, and reporting unauthorized behavior to a bishop, who will decide if this is worth reporting to the local judge. however, if the bishop does not deal with this to a members content, he/she may still report it to a judge themselves.

Royalty

Royalty is the highest class. The only way to be royalty is by birth XD In extreme cases when a member is recommended for expulsion, only a member of the royalty may do so.

King) Either referred to in his rank as Master Zaku or King Zaku, Zack is the supreme authority of this clan, what he says goes as long as the Council or the Queen has no objections to it, which is very rare. He may assume the role of any member of the clan at any time, and often assists in training members himself.

Queen) Rachel is not in charge of running the clan as much as she is a figurehead. The queen is the only person who possesses the power to officially knight someone however, and not even the king may do so(legally) without her blessing.

The Supreme Council

The Supreme Council is all considered to be equal to each other and are only surpassed by royalty in rank. They can override the royalties decision with a majority vote however in the Court of Appeals. The Supreme Council was all appointed by the king himself, and each member helped found the clan.

General) Matthew is expected to see to it that every sage, every centurion, and every knight vigorously train, and represent the clan to the best of their ability, while striving to be even better than them. He is also able to override the lower courts and have a case sent directly to the prime minister.

The Duke) Nuke is in charge of administration within the clan. he is to see to it that the code is upheld and that there are no contradictions within it. He is to keep track of everyone who has been knighted, and see that their account is kept up to date on the site. He knows the rules and regulations of the clan backwards and forwards, and if he detects something seriously wrong, he can bypass all lower courts and have a case sent directly to the prime minister.

Prime Minister) Schellenger is the ultimate judge within the council, and if a case cannot be resolved by a chief judge, it is sent to him. After judging, all of his cases are sent to the king himself for review. In the unlikely event of a disagreement between the two on a result of a case, a meeting of the council is called, and the case will be resolved and put to rest, once and for all.

The Archs

Royal Courtiers among the clan if you will. Both of these ranks are restricted to one person, and one must have worked through all other ranks to even be considered for this position. With the king or queens permission, they are allowed to assume all royal duties, this is usually used if the king or queen is absent from a particular platform for a long period of time.

Archsage) The personal representative of the king. Must be male.

Madame) Considered the ArchBishop, the personal representative of the queen, must obviously be female.

5 Star Ranks

Only achievable after serving as a Commander/Viscount. The decision is still ultimately left up to the council member heading the rank. The Subranks within these are only achieveable by approval of not only the appropriate council member, but by the royalty as well. Once one becomes a 5 star rank, he/she retains that rank no matter the game, and will still be allowed to compete with those that achieved the same rank on that game. Obviously however, they will most likely not represent the clan in case of a tournament with another clan.

Sage) These are the most elite warriors of the game they served on, will be chosen first for tournaments over other members. Are expected to remain in top condition if they wish to do so however. Also all knights are to report offenses to a sage.
SubRank: Colonel) There is only one colonel per platform. This colonel serves as the supreme officer of the entire knights section of the clan for the platform, and reports to the General himself.

Bishop) They are the most knowledgeable members of the clan, and are to be consulted to by nobles and 1 star branches in case of an allegeded offense.
SubRank: Count) There is only one count per platform. This count serves as the supreme officer of the entire noble section of the clan for the platform, and reports to the Duke himself.

Judge) Serve over one particular game. A judge is a special rank which has no direct branch it comes from, but one must be at least a centurion or a paladin before they can achieve this rank. Duties of a Judge-To resolve conflicts within the clan, based on cases sent to them by bishops and sages. If a member appeals to the judge without the support of a sage or bishop, he/she is not obligated to hear that case. However, if a bishop or sage sends a case to a judge, he/she must hear it, and give it a ruling. All cases are to be reported to the chief for review
SubRank: Chief Justice) There is one chief per platform. He/she basically has the same job as a judge, but over the entire platform. If a case is not successfully resolved by one of the lower courts on the platform, chief judge will receive the case. All cases are to be sent to the Prime Minister for Review.

4 Star Ranks

Must have won the clan tournament as a Baron/LT. These are the top members of their respective game, and are to be seen as highly respected figures within the clan. A member will still possess his knight rank if he/she decides to rank up on another game, but will be demoted from a centurion/paladin if trying to rank up on that game.

Centurion) An Elite knight who may enter the clan tournament in hopes of becoming a
SubRank: Commander) The supreme officer of the knights on a game. There can be only one commander per game at a time. If a commander loses a clan tournament, he is thereby honorably discharged from his rank, and moved back to Centurion. However after serving one term as a Commander, a centurion is eligible for sagedom.

Paladin) An highly knowledgable noble seen as an expert on the clan and assist in training recruits and grunts. They may enter in hopes of becoming a
SubRank: Viscount) The supreme officer of the nobles on a game. There can be only one viscount per game at a time. If a viscount loses a clan tournament, he is honorably discharged from his rank, and moved back to Paladin. However after serving one term as a Viscount, a paladin is eligible for bishopdom.

3 Star Ranks

When one is knighted there is an official ceremony to recognize such, as well as a specific title chosen by the person being knighted. this will be further explained in the knights code. Once a member is knighted, they will not be demoted if they switch games, however the will be reduced to competing in the pages/pupils section of the clan tournament until they can prove themselves.

Knight) Won must have won their respective branch of the clan tournament, and have gone through the official ceremony. A knight is expected to uphold the zaku code, as well as the code of the knights, one of which is they are not allowed to belong to another clan. They are also expected to accept a sargeant of their choosing as a page, and are not allowed to enter the clan tournament again until they have successfully done so.
SubRank: Lieutenant) A Knight who has successfully trained his/her page into knighthood, but has yet to win a clan tournament.

Noble) One must have won their respective branch of the clan tournament and have gone through the official ceremony. A noble is expected to uphold the zaku code, one of which is they are not allowed to belong to another clan. They are also expected to accept a sargeant of their choosing as a pupil, and are not allowed to enter the clan tournament again until they have successfully done so.
SubRank: Baron) A noble who has successfully trained his/her pupil into a noble themselves, but has yet to win a clan tournament.

2 Star Ranks

Those seeking to become a page or pupil will be put on a list for knights to choose from after becoming a sargeant. A member cannot pursue ranking up on another game during the two weeks of training, and will be demoted back to recruit if they do so before winning a tournament.

Page) One who is accepted as an apprentice by a knight after having become a sargeant. They must train under their respective master for 2 weeks before being eligible for the clan tournament.
SubRank: Squire) A page who has won the clan tournament, and is now awaiting the knighting ceremony.

Pupil) One who is accepted as an apprentice by a noble after having become a sargeant. They must train under their respective master for 2 weeks before being eligible for the clan tournament.
SubRank: Graduate) A pupil who has won the clan tournament and is now awaiting the knighting ceremony.

1 Star Ranks
This is different from the other star ranks in that they are not equal. They are listed in descending order just like the rest of the hierarchy, that is from highest to lowest if a member switches games while a grunt or legionnaire, he/she is demoted back to recruit for that game, and must start over.

Legionnaire) One must complete the Advanced Regimen. A legionnaire is expected to be directly responsible for at least one recruit joining the clan, and that recruit must finish boot camp before he/she may become a
SubRank: Sargeant) The highest one star rank. This class is still considered a legionnaire, but has completed all requirements. As stated earlier, they have their name placed on a list of eligible pages/pupils, and are merely waiting acceptence as one of these.

Grunt) One must have gone through Zaku boot camp, which will be fairly intense. Afterwards they are not obligated to do so, but may immediately start the Advanced Regimen the next day after completing Boot Camp.

Recruit) New members to the clan. They are expected to go through boot camp, whatever that may be for their specific game, and may start immediately.

That is all for now, and future threads will explain requirements and duties in even more detail, as well as list each members rank.

Also, I'd like to issue a big thanks to me, for typing this, as well as coming up with it. Thats all for now.
